ABOUT FRANKIE
Playing professionally since 1979, I've been an active member of the the Atlanta music scene for nearly three decades, sharing the stage with industry giants like Travis Tritt, Gregg Allman, Kris Kristofferson, Robin Zander & Rick Nielsen (Cheap Trick), Don Barnes (.38 Special), Jesse Dupree (Jackyl), and members of Hall & Oates, Ted Nugent, King's X, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Molly Hatchet, and Mother's Finest. I grew up listening to bands like Rush, Kansas, Judas Priest, Ted Nugent, Blue Oyster Cult, Kiss, Scorpions, Styx... well, you get the picture. Metal was the rage, and in Atlanta, you weren't cool if your band didn't play at Charley Magruders. Long live Butch Weaver! I'm also proud to say that I'm an ELI alumni. I shared the stage with Cookie, Kelly Love, Jo Jo Castinero, Kevin Neal, and vocalist Kevin Tetz who took over after Cookie retired.
Over the past 10 years or so I've mellowed somewhat, concentrating on a more diverse style of music. Don't get me wrong - I still love 80's & 90's metal, always will. Smooth jazz, funk, R&B, and disco however, have a way of transcending genres, labels, and categories. I love the refreshment that performing this music in a live application provides. Whatever makes you feel good...
I am also involved in praise/worship music at Sugar Hill Church. If you haven't heard, today's "church music" is alive & kickin'. This aint your grandpa's style of music!
